From time to time In the Telcom industry, Prepare Calling Cards will come along with their fantastic rates that sound too good to be true. In a real live instance, an agent of mind was telling an Armenian friend about our new FLEX PLAN that offered calls to Armenia for 12¢ per minute and the capital, Yerevan for ONLY 8¢, with a flat rate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and No hidden monthly fees of any kind.
His friend explained that she uses a Prepaid Calling Card and pays $10.00 for 240 minutes of calling, which computes out at about 2.4¢ per minute. She also said she made 8 or 9 calls on each card. Knowing the wholesale rates that major long distance carriers get, I needed to know how they could charge such low rates, so I personally went out and brought the card in question and copied the small print on the back. Once you read the small print, you will find the 2.4¢ per minute are to good to be true.

3. Modifications -
Global Connect Inc. as the right to change or modify these terms and conditions,

changes may include but are not limited to, the prices changed at any time,
with the method of notice to be
determined at Global Connect Inc. sole discretion.
4. Your Global Connect
Inc. Prepaid calling cards can be used for international and domestic calls.
5. You should make
every reasonable effort to safeguard your Global Connect International
Prepaid card and its
Pin number from unauthorized use. Global Connect Inc. is not responsible
for lost or stolen cards.
6. If Global Connect
Inc. suspects any fraudulent use of this card, it may be suspended or terminated
without
notice.
7. Weekly maintenance
fee of 79¢, 7 days after use applies.
8. Card expires 90
days from first use. No refund will be issued for funds that remain on
the card at the time of
expiration.
9. Calls must originate
using a tone tone phone.
10. There will be a surcharge
of 79¢ for calls made from any pay phone.
11. Toll free access billed
at 5¢ per minute higher rate. Minutes quoted based on one call
per card. Rates and minutes quoted do not include applicable taxes. Calls
will be billed at 1 plus 3 minute increments. Rates, billing increments
and maintenance fees are subject to change without notice. A connection
fee may apply to certain destinations. Rates and connection fees may vary
depending upon the dialed destination. International calls to mobile (cellular)
numbers may be billed at a higher rate.
Local and regional phone company charges may apply. One plus 3-minute rounding and a 20% service charge applies to each call. Toll free access from a pay phone will incur a 79¢ per call surcharge. Charges and fees are subject to change without. Card expires 90 days from first use.
